NotFusion

Support

NotFusion is an unofficial iPhone app for managing a Sophos Fusion (formerly Sophos Central) account.

Sophos can't help with the app

NotFusion isn't made, endorsed, or supported by Sophos, so Sophos support can't answer questions about it. Problems with your Sophos account itself still go to Sophos.

Getting started

  1. In Sophos Fusion, create an API credential. Sophos's guides cover a tenant, a partner and an organization.
  2. Choose its role. Service Principal Read-Only is enough to look. To make changes, such as isolating an endpoint or closing a case, use Service Principal Super Admin. Give the credential no more access than you'll use.
  3. Name it after you and the phone, such as NotFusion Sam iPhone, so you know which one to delete if the phone is lost.
  4. In NotFusion, paste the client ID and secret. The app checks them with Sophos before it saves them.

To look around first, tap Try the demo on the setup screen. The demo uses made-up tenants and sends nothing anywhere, and changes made in it don't go through.

Common problems

Sophos didn't accept the client ID and secret. The credential may have been deleted, or its secret rotated or copied with a missing character. Create a new secret in Sophos Fusion and paste it again.

Can't reach Sophos. The phone has no connection or Sophos isn't answering. The app shows what it saved earlier. Pull down to try again.

Sophos refused the change (403). The credential's role doesn't allow it. A Service Principal Read-Only credential can't change anything.

Sent, not showing yet. Sophos accepted the change but doesn't show it yet. Pull down in a minute to check again.

The app asks for the secret again. iOS stops releasing a saved secret when the faces or fingers enrolled on the phone change. Paste the secret again, or create a new one in Sophos Fusion.

If you lose your phone

Delete the API credential in Sophos Fusion. That stops it working on every device. On iPhone, deleting the app doesn't delete saved credentials, so use Settings, Remove all profiles before you delete the app from a phone you still have.

Privacy

NotFusion collects no data. The privacy policy lists what the app keeps on your phone and where it sends data.
